Performance-rotor shaft with forged 800gr flail hammers
In contrast to other machines in the market, Bowell is using between 18 to 26 forged flail hammers (depending on working width) - each with a weight of 800gr - that ensure a perfect mowing result, even when you are facing undergrowth, small bushes and branches up to 25mm in diameter. The newly developed and easily replaceable counter knives inside the mower help to shred the crop in the shortest possible time. A further improved, spiral-shaped arrangement of the flails on the rotor shaft guarantees maximum performance with minimum effort for the tractor.
The mowing height is adjusted by the heavy self cleaning rear roller to prevent the mower from cutting into the ground on bumpy surface.
The standard free-wheel transmission lets the rotor shaft turn, once the PTO is switched off, so that its movement will not be transferred to the tractor. The mower´s front is equipped with safety flaps to prevent debris and stones being thrown out of the machine.
All BCRM-mowers have easily accessible stainless steel grease nipples for easy service and height adjustable skids. The PTO shaft is part of the accessory for all BCRM verge mowers. The short and easy service plan in the user manual helps you on maintenance and service.
The completely assembled machine is delivered in the massive Bowell wooden case. Just the Cat-I 3-point hitch (Cat-II bushings included), the hydraulic arms and the PTO shaft protector have to be assembled, taking you less than 60min. We offer an assembly guide with photos to assist you.
SKF ball bearings
Like all other Bowell mowers, the BCRM series has an electronically balanced SKF ball bearing mounted rotor shaft which is driven by 3 or 4 belts, with 17mm width each, depending on the working width. The free-wheel gear box runs in an oil bath, so the attached transmission oil has to be filled in before you first use the machine.
Underneath the massive 6mm steel housing sits the laser balanced rotor shaft with 18 or 26 hammer shaped knifes, each with a weight of 800gr. The galvanized and forged knives can be individually exchanged and regrinded. The new SKF ball bearings of the rotor shaft are sitting in CNC milled bearing seats which significantly increases their durability. Powered by the PTO shaft, the rotor shaft turns with an amazing 2200 rpm and cuts the material down to a minimum, so that it can rot away fast. The heavy ball-bearing mounted roller in the back of the mower guarantees smooth performance even on rough grounds.
Optional 540 / 1000 U/min PTO shaft speed
The installed Comer gear box can be used both with 540 and 1000 RPM PTO speed. Bowell BCRS verge mower gear boxes come with the Bowell Power Efficiency Technology. If your tractor also supports the 1000 RPM PTO speed, you can operate your mower at this high speed, if you order the optional pulley set. You only need to replace the factory pulleys with the new high speed set and you can reach a more efficient performance with less fuel consumption. Bowell Power Efficiency Technology saves fuel from day one.
The Bowell 4-belt-power system
Starting from a working width of 175cm 26 hammer knives and the Bowell 4-belt-drive system with reinforced belt pulleys and wider 17mm belts are used. Despite the high knife weight of 800gr each, this guarantees an almost 100% power transfer rate with virtually 0% belt slippage.
Other machines only use 2 drive belts or significantly smaller belts at the same width. This results in belt slippage, being the major reason for belt failure. The new Bowell 17mm 3-belt-drive-system eradicates that which not only saves money and downtime, but also means that the Bowell BCRM-series can use more, larger and heavyer hammer knifes for an optimized work result without belt problems. The new Bowell belt cover is unique in the BCRM mower class. The correct belt tension can be checked within seconds without having to remove the belt cover. This makes service and maintenance a lot easier than before.
